Description
The stunning, vibrant color and a low spreading habit make the Dwarf Golden leaf Bamboo a fine choice to light up the shade garden and other dark areas in the landscape. The foliage is an electric chartreuse color (lime green/golden yellow) on dense plants that grow naturally to 4 to 3 feet tall and spread to form a dense colony that prevents weeds. If plants are mowed to the ground in later winter they might reach only 18 to 24 inches in height. An excellent under-story plant in larger bamboo groves or to surround a larger clumping bamboo. This dwarf bamboo is great for the landscape and as a solo or accent in pots, planters and other containers. dwarf Golden Leaf Bamboo prefers part shade to shade and is hardy to 12°F.

Growing Preferences
Dwarf Golden Leaf Bamboo grows well in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and part shade to shade. Morning and evening sun are okay but plants prefer afternoon shade of filtered sun. This species will spread to form large colonies. If planted in an area where unlimited spread is not acceptable, underground barriers can be installed to control spread. Can be trimmed or mowed to the ground every year to stimulate all fresh new growth for the current season.
How To Grow Bamboo Plants Indoors
