Description
A beautiful easy-to-grow hybrid Yarrow, ‘Firefly Amethyst’ produces loads of lavender flowers that age to shades of softer lavender and pink with all colors present at the same time on the same plant. Perched atop sturdy stems on well-behaved plants, the flower clusters are sure to attract butterflies and are perfect for cutting and use in both fresh and dried flower arrangements. Deer and rabbits turn their nose up to this one. The broad, finely cut fern-like leaves provide soft texture in the garden and the butterflies will thank you for the flowers!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Yarrow grows well in garden beds and containers. Growing 18 to 24 inches tall and spreading to 32 to 36 inches or more wide, Firefly Amethyst Yarrow is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces and container gardens or in groupings in larger garden spaces. A fine addition to butterfly gardens, cut flower gardens, cottage gardens and purple theme gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 24 to 30 inches inches apart for groupings or mass plantings; 48 inches or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
Yarrow is very easy to grow in most any moist but well drained soil of average to even low fertility and full to mostly sun. Good drainage is essential and plants are quite drought tolerant when established. We suggest at least 5 hours of direct sunlight per day for the most flowers. As with many other perennial plants, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic. Heavy, dense clay soils should be amended with organic matter to ensure good drainage.

Upon arrival the plant was a good size. There were some yellow leaves along the base but over all the plant was acceptable..———————————————————–Just pick off the yellow leaves off, it should be just fine. Keep us posted, thanks for your review. Beth|WBG
