The Purple Diamond Loropetalum was the perfect size, shape and color for the spot I had in mind. Unfortunately, although Oregon’s number one product is nursery plants, this one wasn’t to be found. I ordered from Wilson Bros. in Georgia. The plant arrived in perfect condition. The packing was so well done that even though my housemate (and probably others) laid it on its side, it looked great when I opened the box. The roots looked very healthy – not pot-bound, not immature. ———— WBG Reply: Hi Susan – Thanks so much for the review and sharing your experience with us and future visitors to Wilson Bros Gardens. Stephen was very helpful with all of my questions about loropetalum. They arrived in great condition and look wonderful in my landscape!
My original loropetalums were damaged by severe cold temperatures. They were in half barrels and the soil probably was colder than in the ground. These Purple Diamonds are one of my favorite plants so I will take steps to make sure it doesnt happen again. The plants arrived in perfect condition – nice packing.
