Description
One of a few roses to win the Award of Excellence for Miniature Roses, and one of the most versatile of the entire class, the Red Cascade Rose covers itself with LOADS of deep crimson red miniature roses (1 to 1.25″) from spring and over and over again through the season and all the way to frost. There is a pleasant fragrance at times, but it is best described as “light.” The “miniature” in the name refers to the size of the blossoms and not the plant itself, which typically grows to 2 to 3 feet tall with a spread of 6 feet or more when grown on the ground or over a wall. As a climber, we’ve seen it reach heights of 12 feet. Its true merit is its vigor and generosity of bloom.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a trailing or cascading mound or climbing vine, the Red Cascade Rose is ideal for use as a specimen in medium size landscape spaces where it will form an attractive weeping shrub to about 2 to 3 feet tall spreading to 6 feet or more, depending on pruning. If trained on a fence, trellis or pole, it can reach dimensions rivaling any full-sized climber, up to 12 feet in height. Red Cascade Rose is ideal for use planted in mass as a groundcover on embankments, hillsides and slopes or to cascade over walls. Also nice in large pots of 14 inches or more in rim diameter. A fine addition to rose gardens, red theme gardens and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 5 to 6 feet apart for mass plantings or to cover a fence
Growing Preferences
Red Cascade Rose is exceptionally easy to grow in average, well-drained soils with medium moisture in full sun to part shade. Keep in mind that all roses like morning sun to dry the morning dew from their leaves but will tolerate afternoon shade. Red Cascade do not require pruning, however can be pruned to train as a climber or to control size. We always provide enough room to allow this beauty to ramble naturally so very rarely if ever prune. Deadheading spent flowers is not necessary, however might encourage heavier blooming.

Many thanks, the order arrived today.
In the 1980’s when I lived in Michigan I worked for a retail nursery, passed testing to be considered a Michigan Certified Nurseryman.
We sold items from Monrovia ‘Distinctly Better’ Nursery, and I would say that the roses certainly appear to be on a quality like that – as big a compliment as I can make.————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Thanks so much for the kind words and great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG

I have been ordering plants online for years due to the remote locations of our 2 ranches & our home so when I get to the location the plants would be deliver within a day. The time it takes to drive a couple hours plus hook up the trailer, load, unload, etc it’s my time vs what I can get ordered online in the evenings with a quality nursery. I HAVE NEVER had full size plants delivered as promised. I’m so floored, absolutely astounded at the nursery quality of these/your deliveries, one box after another the contents are perfect And enormous.
So, I will start ordering early next year, I feel like I missed out on so many sold out items! This summer is not over yet either, I’m so grateful I found you.
A huge thank you for doing everything just right!—————————————————Thanks for the great review! We are so happy you are pleased! Beth | WBG 🙂
